Jenny’s passion for food and nutrition education began her senior year of college while working as a teacher's aide in a first grade classroom. She was astounded to find some of her young students already suffering from obesity related diseases. This experience inspired her to use her talents as an educator to get kids excited about cooking and eating healthfully.
After graduating college Jenny attended the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City, a culinary school focused on health-supportive cooking. Since then she has been working as a chef instructor for a variety of health and nutrition education programs such as Wellness in the Schools and EarthFriends. She and a colleague started the “Eat REAL” summer and afterschool program at Harlem RBI. Jenny is currently pursuing a Master’s in Nutrition at Hunter College.
