Meet Morgan Rogers

Morgan is a culinary school graduate who has devoted her career to empowering kids to make healthy food choices through hands-on cooking and gardening classes. Before moving to the Seattle area in late 2014, Morgan was the lead Kitchen Teacher at Edible Schoolyard NYC, where she taught standards-based nutrition education classes to 1,200 PreK-8th grade students using food they grew in their school gardens. Previously, she taught seasonal nutrition workshops to thousands of elementary school students across New York City as a Nutrition Educator at Wellness in the Schools. Beecher’s Pure Food Kids Foundation is lucky to have her organized, hands on and energetic style and passion for building community through cooking (and eating!) healthy, delicious food.  When she's not busy turning students into food detectives at PFK, you can find her teaching preschool at Seattle Children's Playgarden and teaching garden classes to K-3rd graders at the Leschi Elementary Peace Garden. 

 
There’s nothing I love more than spending time around the table with family and friends. My friends and I have been having a lot of potlucks lately so no one has to work too hard, and it’s been so much fun getting to try so many new amazing foods! Last week my friend Campbell made Green Chile Mac & Cheese using chiles that his wife Katie brought from her hometown in New Mexico- I’m still thinking about how delicious it was!
